WHAT MAKES IHDS UNIQUE?
Social Emotional Development: Developing the whole child is equally as important as academic rigor. Through Positive Discipline, we explicitly teach life skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking, empathy, and collaboration. By prioritizing student well-being, our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, laying the foundation for a lifetime of success. Our students are not dragged down by homework and grades, but develop a Growth Mindset, welcoming challenges and believing in their own ability to achieve. This is the foundation for the next generation of strong, compassionate, Jewish leaders for all people.
Our rigorous Jewish learning, with soul: Teaching Jewish values alone does not prepare children for their Jewish journey. We give our children the essential skills to access their heritage by giving them “the keys to the vast Jewish library” through text-based learning. Jewish education must also touch the soul. This is accomplished through innovative experiential, joyful Jewish learning experiences.
Hebrew fluency: We support Hebrew language fluency through Hebrew immersion, now offered in TK & K, and to be continued in all grades. Hebrew is the gateway to understanding Jewish texts and developing connection to Israel.
